Our vision is of an equitable world where rights and dignity of persons with disability are realized and where they participate fully and effectively in society leading to a good quality of life.

Sectoral Mission on Disability

An inclusive society with equal rights, opportunities and respect for all, irrespective of their abilities, gender race and religion.

The purpose of YUVA Youths Union For Voluntary Action is to work with all persons with disabilities, their families, communities, organizations and institutions on empowerment and inclusion of persons with disabilities by facilitating disabled people’s organizations to address the gaps that exist at various levels. YUVA plays a proactive and promotional role in Community Based Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities in Jharkhand and in the inclusion of persons with disabilities in community development programs.

Objectives of Intervention

  • To ensure the inclusion of groups of persons with disabilities who are traditionally excluded and discriminated against – especially children, women and people with multiple and severe disabilities – in view of bridging the gap in line with Art. 19 of UNCRPD and human rights.
  • To ensure that all children with disability (especially those who want to and can attend school regularly) get the opportunity to be integrated in to Anganwadi centers, local primary and secondary schools along with other children of the community.
  • To enhance the competencies and skills of the teachers to meet the educational requirements of children with disabilities.
  • To facilitate equal opportunities for persons with disabilities and promote their rights.
  • Our priority groups among persons with disabilities are:

  • Poorest of the poor in un-reached rural or urban areas.
  • People with multiple and severe disabilities.
  • Children and - Women.
