Primitive tribal groups show higher levels of malnutrition compared to other people from socio-economically advanced classes. Similarly, indigenous peoples’ income security has been compromised by losses and access to productive resources (rights to forest or agricultural land with little compensation). Debt is one of the main coping strategies, leading to a hand-to-mouth existence for those affected.
YUVA is making efforts to provide food security among primitive tribal groups.
The organization has always strived to strengthen the tribal community through the realization of their rights, the empowerment of women, and the safeguarding of the community’s food security web through the improvement of their livelihoods.
